Elizabeth and Pierre Baissac’s Silver Wedding Anniversary:

Elizabeth and Pierre Baissac (Alix<Marc<Pierre-Edmond and Lucie) celebrated their silver wedding anniversary by inviting about forty family and friends to their home in Vacoas. Pierre and Elizabeth entertain exceedingly well following the traditions of Sainte Antoine and Ménil-aux-Roses: cocktails followed by a first rate dinner in a convivial and informal ambience in the setting of an illuminated tropical garden under the impressive vault of 150 year old palms, 25 meters high.

Anne Baissac, Pierre’s sister had come from Réunion for the occasion.

During the evening Elizabeth spoke naturally with humour in a moving speech of the long road, taking them through successive meetings eventually concluding in their happy marriage.

Translators Note:
This must have been a very special occasion. Pierre and Anne were brought up at Ménil-aux-Roses. Pierre’s aunt Mado was present as well as many cousins, Mado’s son David Ardill and his wife Nelly as well as Anne’s daughters who live in Mauritius. We have to thank Pierre for taking a lead in restoring the Family graves in Port Louis. I am specially pleased to see photos of Jean-Pierre and Anny, Tristan and Claudine as well as Bertrand and Annic who do so much for the de Chazal Family and the de Chazal name.
